RESTOCK: Brickmania’s Panzer II is Full of Details

Panzer II
The Panzer II was the first true gun tank fielded by the Germany in World War II. Developed in secret between the wars, the Panzer II’s turret was armed with both a machine gun for anti-personnel fire, plus a 37mm cannon for use against other armored vehicles. Although the Panzer II was soon found woefully inadequate against next generation Allied tank designs, the Panzer II played a key role in the campaigns in Poland, France, North Africa and the Barbarossa campaign in Russia. Even though it was largely withdrawn from front line duty by 1942, the Panzer II continued to soldier on in reconnaissance and convoy escort duty throughout the war. The hull of the Panzer II was also the basis of the highly successful Wespe self-propelled 10.5cm gun. While this is a relatively small model, the high level of detail and SNOT (Studs Not On Top) building techniques earn this kit an Intermediate skill level rating. To celebrate the release of our latest batch of Panzer II kits, we are taking $10 of the price for a limited time. Order yours HERE.

BKM 266 Panzer38(t)

The Czech-built LT v 38 was pressed into service by the Wehrmacht after Czechoslovakia was annexed by Germany. After being reclassified as the Panzer 38(t) (The “t” stands for “Tschechisch” meaning Czech in German) they were used extensively by the German armored forces during the invasions of Poland, France and the Soviet Union. While they proved reliable vehicles, their light armor and 37mm main gun would prove them quickly outclassed by more power Soviet tanks. While the Panzer 38(t) was withdrawn from combat by 1942, the tanks’s chassis would continue to be produced as the basis for the Marder III and Hetzer tank destroyers.

To celebrate our first new batch of the Panzer 38(t) for 2013 we’re taking $10 off the MSRP of $135 through the end of August.  ORDER HERE

Gaz MM & DShK

Now that event season is winding down, we have a massive backlog of new kit ideas to work our way through. Some of the new kits are already going into production and will start hitting the store near the end of the month. These pictures are a preview of some of the new stuff to come.

DShK01L

The DShK is the Russian equivalent to the Browning M2 .50 caliber heavy machine gun. It is shown with the tripod folded for use against ground targets. It has wheels and shield attached and the tripod has a “seat” for the gunner (this configuration would remain in the Soviet inventory long after World War II, although the shield would be discarded).

DShK02L

DShK seen with the tripod set up for anti-aircraft mode. The tan roof truck is a Gaz MM, a more powerful version of the Gaz AA truck. The “canvas” roof was a war-expedient effort to simplify production. The Gaz MM will be replacing the Gaz AA in production this month.

GazAAA-w-Russian-MFL

The Gaz AAA was the 6×6 truck used by the Soviet Union in a similar fashion as the CCKW was for the Americans, with variants used to haul troops, cargo, weapon systems, communication centers and just about everything imaginable. This will also be released as a kit in September / October.

G527_TrailerL

The G527 “Ben Hur” Water Trailer has been cleared for release after adding some minor details to the earlier prototype versions previewed on the LST display. This would make a great addition to a CCKW, M3 Halftrack or any Allied vehicle with a trailer hitch.

type-95-TankL

The Japanese Type 95 “Ha Go” tank was originally released last fall in a fully dark gray scheme as part of a limited edition battle pack. A new camouflaged versions will be available for sale as a stand-along kit sometime within the next few weeks. In spite of the dazzling camouflage, this will probably be the lowest price tank Brickmania has released to date.

Chaffee

Introduced at the end of World War II to replace the worn out and under-gunned M3/M5 Stuart tanks, the M24 Chaffee first saw action against the German Ardennes offensive known the Battle of the Bulge. Lightly armored and fast, the M24 was a nimble scout vehicle that packed the same punch as the M4 Sherman tank. The M24 Chaffee was retired from US service after the Korean War (being replaced by the Walker Bulldog) but has soldiered on in other countries armed serives to modern times. during the Vietnam way, the AVRN (South Vietnamese Army) used Chaffee tanks that were left behind when the French Colonial Army withdrew in the late 1950s.

Additional information about this Brickmania custom Lego® kit:

This model is built to 1/35 scale for use with LEGO minifigs and other Brickmania WWII kits. It features a BrickArms M1919 .30 caliber machine gun, articulated tracks, opening commander’s hatch (fig not included) and traversable turret with elevating main gun. Includes 372 new-condition LEGO and BrickArms elements plus printed building instructions (it is shipped unassmbled).

Updated Version:

The original M24 Chaffee kit was built in such a manner that it would not be compatible with the upcoming custom Brickmania Track Links™. Since the Chaffee was out most popular kit we decided to upgrade the design to make it compatible with the new links. While it was being redesigned, minor updates were made to the kit to make the hull shape more accurate, etc.  Until the Brickmania Track Links™ reach production stages, the M24 Chaffee will be shipped with stock LEGO chain links for the tracks.

Tiger I

We have scraped together another pieces to assemble 20 more Tiger I premium building kits. This kit contains nearly 1000 pieces and builds a 1/35 scale Tiger I that includes realistic details inside and outside the hull. This kit is difficult for us to assemble and batches inevitably sell out faster than we can keep up with demand.  Get one now or possible wait until “Who knows when?” for the next batch!  Our production team production has reminded us that these kits take longer to assemble and they may not be ready to ship out until Thursday or Friday (November 10th or 11th).

291_PanzerIV_AusfGcover560

Brickmania is pleased to release a new version of the Panzer IV Ausf G —a total remake of Dan’s Panzer IV Ausf G kit originally released in 2009. The main improvements include a new hull, track geometry and turret, which are all redesigned to give more accurate scale representation. Other minor improvements were made to take advantage of the release of newer elements from LEGO and BrickArms. The Panzer IV was the most produced Axis tank during World War II and this long-gunnned version is ideal for all mid to late war dioramas. Panzer IV

The new Panzer IV has all the playability of the original kit, including a fully rotating turret, posable main gun, and three opening hatches.

Panzer Commander

To coincide with the new Panzer IV kit, Brickmania has produced our own custom-designed Panzer Commander mini figure. One of these figures is included in the kit, but we are also selling them individually for those interested in filling out the ranks of their Panzertruppen.

We have another production run of M2A4 Light Tank kits hot of the assembly line. The M2A4 was the precursor to what was later standardized as the M3 Stuart light tank. M8 Greyhound Light Armored Scout Car – A Super Premium Re-issue

$
0
0

M8 Scout Car

Each year we re-release very limited batch of one or two “classic” Brickmania kits. We recently stumbled across as cache of the figures used in the original kit, which developed into the idea of a limited re-release. The over-all color scheme of this vehicle is the old dark gray color that LEGO discontinued in 2004. The bricks that make up these kits are in as close to new condition as we could obtain—most pulled from our own stash of never-been-used bricks. The packaging and instructions are identical to the original version released in July 2010. Only 120 of the original “old” dark gray kits were released before production changed over to the “new” dark gray bricks just a few months later.

M8 Greyhound

The M8 Light Armored Car was an American made reconnaissance vehicle and tank destroyer made by the Ford Motor Company during World War II. It is a 6×6 wheeled vehicle, with a crew of four and armed with a 37mm anti-tank gun mounted on a central turret. While they were generally considered under-armed against German tanks, and were reported to have poor off-road handling, they were superbly suited as fast reconnaissance vehicles on the roads of Western Europe. The M8 also saw duty in the Pacific theater, where their 37mm guns could easily knock out more lightly armored Japanese tanks. M8′s in British service were referred to as the Greyhound, which has become universally synonymous with the M8 in modern times. Only 20 kits were made in this batch, which is likely to be the last one ever!

Additional information about this Brickmania custom Lego® kit:

The M8 “Greyhound” 6×6 Light Armored Scout Car has the following features:

  • Fully rotating turret with elevating main gun assembly
  • Opening hatches for the drivers’ and engine compartments
  • 4x LEGO minifugres with BrickArms M1 Steel Pot Helmets
  • 1/35 scale to match other Brickmania models
  • Includes 351 genuine new-condition LEGO bricks and BrickArms elements
  • Over-all color scheme is the same old dark gray color of the original Brickmania kits
  • Comes with a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity
  • Intermediate Skill Level (4-6 years experience with LEGO is recommended)

All Brickmania model kits are made of new-condition LEGO bricks and this one includes compatible accessories by BrickArms. This model comes disassembled and includes complete full color printed building instructions, signed certificate of authenticity, and comes packaged in a sealed box. This is a limited edition kit and no further production is planned.

Finished US Tankers Custom Minifigs

Hello supporters!

I’m happy to report that full production of Brickmania Track Links started this week and already about half of the initial run has been completed. At the end of next week I will be heading out to our production facility to personally oversee delivery of the first complete batch Track Links.  Everything else is already finished or will be finished before the tracks arrive. Our plan is to seal kits, bag up parts and ship out all of the backer awards during the week of December 16th-20th. I can’t promise delivery before Christmas, but it’s certainly going to be close!

Thanks again for your support and your patience!

Dan

P.S. Brickmania Track Links will be available to the general public as soon we have fulfilled our obligations to our Kickstarter supporters.
